Kosmos is a digital publishing platforms where authors can realize their dream of being published, reach readers across the globe and start monetizing their works.
Will I get paid for posting my stories?
Yes. We provide all our writers revenue sharing based on net profits.
Do you accept unagented works?
Yes. We always aim to discover new and upcoming writers. If you have a great story to tell, we will provide you with a platform for your target readers to hear your voice.
Do you accept works from new and upcoming authors?
Yes! We love discovering new voices in both fiction and non-fiction. If you are a new writer who want to try your hand in writing, we can help you find your voice and readers.
Not only that, we can also provide creative and developmental advice on how to improve your story and writing. And yes, we provide this for free if you post your works with us.
Are my works protected?
Yes. Once we sign your book, you will be protected by a contract to protect all the books posted in our platform. We will never steal your work. We don’t just showcase works in our platform, we also promote you as an author.
Once in our platform, your books can only be read using our application.
Who will be the author credited for the works?
It’s always you, using the name or pen name of your choice.
Can I post my works in other ebook retailer platforms?
Yes. You are free to sell your works in other ebooks retailers or serialized platforms.
Do I have to pay anything when posting my works on your platform?
No. Posting in our application is absolutely free.
Do you provide book covers?
Yes. Once you publish your works with us, we can create book covers absolutely free of charge.
Do you provide editing?
Yes. We can provide simple editing for your works to minimize grammatical, spelling and consistency errors. This service is available for free for books posted in our platform on a first come, first served basis.
My works are in other languages, would you accept this?
Absolutely. We accept works in English and other languages.
How will my readers pay for my books?
If you are posting your books as a paid book, readers will be provided a few chapter samples to get a feel of your writing. After the free sample, they can download the book after they purchase it and read it within the app.
What is the duration of your contract?
Our contract is open-ended. We will keep it in the app as long as you like. Once you no longer wish for it to be available in the app, you can send us an email and give us 90 days to remove your books from our app.
Do you accept non-fiction?
Absolutely! We accept both fiction and non-fiction works. All works are welcome.
Do you accept Young Adult books?
Yes. For Young Adult and New Adult fiction work, we accept works with an audience age of 17+.
What genre do you accept?
We accept any type of genre except for children’s books (due to our audience rating).
Do you accept erotica?
Yes. We accept NSFW stories, but it has to be story-centered and written with art. No, we do not accept works considered as pure pornography. To adhere to the Google or Apple policies, you have to make sure that covers, blurbs and titles will adhere to the content guidelines.
Do you accept LGBT+ books?
Totally! We welcome works with all relationship orientations.
What is the minimum number of words you accept?
There is absolutely no minimum word count, especially for works that authors want to offer for free. You will be the one to set the price, but you have to take into consideration the word counts when setting the price to keep your readers happy.
What is the maximum number of words you accept?
You can write a saga, if you want. We do not have a limit on the maximum number of words, as long as it makes a good story.
What is the minimum word count per chapter?
To provide the best reading experience for your readers, the ideal number of words per chapter is at least 1,500 words.
What is the minimum number of chapters?
That is totally up to you. You can set how many chapters your book is going to be.
Can I post my works for free?
If your aim to gather readers and followers and you prefer to post your works for free, you are totally allowed to do so. Once you decide to make your stories paid, you can always contact us and apply for a paid distribution contract.
What content do you not accept?
We curate the books that go into our platform to provide our readers the best reading experience. Thus, we cannot accept works touching the lines of incest, pedophilia, rape, homophobia, racism, underage sex, hateful speech against a particular group, misogyny, etc.
